State Department blasts Israel in human rights report
WASHINGTON, Feb 26, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- In its most critical language to date, the State Department accused Israel Monday of extra-judicial killings and the use of excessive force in its efforts to suppress Palestinian violence throughout the five-month Al-Aqsa Intifada.
The department's annual human rights report says Israeli security forces killed more than 300 Palestinians and injured more than 11,000 in the last year.
