WA: Rape, murder suspect denies attraction to young women
A man implicated in the rape and murder of a 20-year-old beauty queen 31 years ago
has told the West Australian coroner's court he was unjustly accused of being attracted
to young women.
THOMAS JOHN CRAIG, now 60, was giving evidence at an inquest into the death of ANNE
ZAPPELLI in the mid-west coastal town of Geraldton on September 22, 1969.
Ms ZAPPELLI was raped and murdered after leaving friends to walk home from a drive-in theatre.
No-one has ever been charged over the crimes, despite three police investigations in
1969, 1980 and 1988.
