FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- When Manny Ramirez speaks, the Boston Red Sox listen and he says he wants to stay in right field.

So eight days after manager Jimy Williams said he would switch his new slugger to left, he announced Thursday that Ramirez was uncomfortable there.

A few hours later, Ramirez jogged out to right field for Boston's spring training opener against Minnesota and made one error in his first two chances.

``That's been the position that he's played his whole career,'' Williams said before the game, ``so you have to listen to him. He's a very important part of our club.
