Lemaire, Risebrough Fined by NHL

ST. PAUL (AP) -- Minnesota Wild coach Jacques Lemaire and general manager Doug Risebrough were fined $5,000 each for criticizing a referee after an overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings March 11.

NHL executive vice president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell said the fine was levied against Lemaire because his comments were made publicly, not necessarily because the league didn't believe his story.

``We have to stand by our guy,'' Campbell said. ``He's a young referee, yes, but we haven't had an incident with him before.''

With less than a minute to play in regulation, referee Brad Meier penalized Minnesota defenseman ...
