my name is Dr. James Ferguson of the University of Virginia and I
am here
today representing the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine or SMFM.
Thank
you for providing me with this opportunity to outline SMFM's top funding
priorities for FY 2002. Overview of FY 2002 Funding Priorities SMFM
is
pleased to appear before this Subcommittee in order to highlight our
funding
priorities for FY 2002. In particular, we are asking the Subcommittee
to
support maternal-fetal medicine specialists and hence quality patient
care
by providing: -A 16.5% or a $3.4 billion increase over FY 2001, for
