EU to press U.S. on Kyoto treaty
LUXEMBOURG, Mar 29, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The European Union planned to send a high-level delegation to Washington to discuss the Bush administration's apparent decision to withdraw support from the yet-unratified Kyoto treaty on global warming, it was announced Thursday.
EU Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom told reporters in Brussels, Belgium, the administration's position is "very worrying." She said she would go to Washington next week with officials of the Swedish EU presidency and the upcoming Belgian presidency for talks.
