Fed: Fatal peanut allergy can pass to babies in breast milk

BRISBANE, April 4 AAP - Potentially fatal peanut allergy can be passed from mother
to baby through breast milk, new research shows.
A Canadian study quantifying secretions of peanut protein into the milk of lactating
mothers has prompted allergy experts to call for at-risk babies to be screened.
Dr David Hill, director of the department of allergy at Melbourne's Royal Children's
Hospital, said eczema in a baby should be a warning sign to parents.
