Fed: News of Ansett safety problems moves overseas

CANBERRA, April 13 AAP - The grounding of Ansett's 767 fleet has made news overseas,
with international television network CNN reporting the Australian airline could face
total closure.

The CNN website quoted the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as saying there had
been repeated failures to properly maintain the aircraft.

Opposition transport spokesman Martin Ferguson said Australia was now a laughing stock
internationally.
