(The Lantern) (U-WIRE) COLUMBUS, Ohio -- David Horowitz, conservative critic and author of the advertisement "Ten Reasons Why Reparations for Blacks Is a Bad Idea -- and Racist Too" that is causing a stir at college campuses across the country, said he is not a racist and his ad was not a defamation of any ethnic group.
Horowitz is president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, a best-selling author and editor. He was a leader of the new left during the '60s as editor of Ramparts magazine, a left-wing journal. However, in the '80s Horowitz changed his political view and became aligned with right-wing conservatives.
