Vic: Prostitute jailed for murder of client

MELBOURNE, April 24 AAP - A woman who became a prostitute and drug addict in her early
teens was today jailed for 16 years for strangling a client and trying to choke a cellmate.

Kym Olden, 28, was ordered to serve a minimum non-parole term of 11 years.

A Victorian Supreme Court jury convicted Olden of the murder of Paul Lisinski, aged
in his 40s, at a St Kilda hotel on August 5, 1999.

Justice John Coldrey, in sentencing, said the case was "truly tragic".

A psychiatrist had described her as a "very damaged woman" and said Olden's capacity
to control and understand her own emotions ...
