NT: Liberal urged to quit World Heritage Committee chair

DARWIN, April 24 AAP - Australia's environmental credentials were being damaged while
a Liberal-endorsed federal election candidate chaired UNESCO's World Heritage Committee,
the Northern Territory Environment Centre said today.
Australian environmental groups have called on Sydney barrister Peter King to stand
down as chairman of both the World Heritage Committee and Australian Heritage Commission
since he was preselected in February to contest the blue-ribbon seat of Wentworth.
Environment Centre coordinator Mark Wakeham said Mr King's roles created a potential
