Stephanie Kaplan asks her mom every day if they can go shopping for
a group home.

Many of Stephanie's friends at the day program she attends live in
one, and the 25-year-old mentally disabled woman wants to join them.

"She sees how happy her friends are, and she's ready to go," says
her mom, Francine Kaplan of Westwood. "We've been waiting 10 years.
We're talking five more years just for her to go on the urgent list, and
then we have to wait our turn."
