playwright Arthur Miller delivers the Jefferson Lecture here in Washington,
DC. Being named a Jefferson lecturer is the highest honor the US
government bestows for distinguished intellectual achievement in the
humanities. Mr. Miller certainly has the credentials; he's the author
of "Death of a Salesman," "The Crucible" and other modern classics.
