SYDNEY, May 9 AAP - A robber's syringe which appeared full of blood contained only
tomato sauce, police said today.

However, authorities have now issued an urgent appeal for the recall of tomato sauce
bottles sold by a western Sydney supermarket because they may have been contaminated by
the man's syringe.

A 23-year-old man from Colyton, Sydney's west, has been charged with armed robbery
after the syringe was used to steal drugs from a local pharmacy yesterday.
