Futures Markets to Be Revitalized

CHINA, May 10, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- A number of new futures products are to be launched on China's three futures exchanges this year in a move to revitalize the ailing sector.

These futures products, scheduled to be launched in the third quarter, include rice futures on East China's Shanghai Futures Exchange, corn futures on the Northeast China's Dalian Futures Exchange and sugar and cotton futures on central China's Zhengzhou Commodity Futures Exchange.
