Chairman
of the Senate Republican Conference, issued the following statement
in
reference to the passage of the President's budget: WASHINGTON, D.C.
--
"I am pleased that the Senate approved the President's budget. The
passage
of this common sense budget plan not only reduces taxes for every
taxpayer,
but it also gives our economy the much needed boost it needs to create
and maintain jobs. The President's budget calls for a responsible
5 percent
rate of growth, and an increase in education spending by 11.5 percent.
I am also very pleased to see that the President's budget creates
a $300
