(The Oracle) (U-WIRE) TAMPA, Fla. -- Colleagues remember Willie Reader as a sort of cowboy -- a free-spirited loner who focused his energies on his written creativity.
His family and close friends remember him as a man who equally balanced his love of poetry with his love for his daughter. And almost everyone remembers him as, just slightly off the path of conformity.
Friends gathered to remember Reader at a memorial service on the University of South Florida campus Wednesday. Reader lost his long battle with kidney disease Friday at age 70, and news of his death surprised colleagues who attended the simple service at the Crosswinds Campus Ministry.
