Fed: BHP workers rights in strife after merger Stott Despoja

CANBERRA, May 18 AAP - The merger of BHP with the big foreign mining house Billiton
spelt trouble for workers' rights, Australian Democrats leader Natasha Stott Despoja said
today.

It was hard to see how the new company's foreign managers would have sympathy to BHP
workers' rights, she said.

Shareholders in BHP Ltd today approved a $58 billion merger with UK-based Billiton
plc by a strong majority.
