Friday, May 25, 2001 -- THE French call them crepes, the Russians blinis, for Italians they are manicotti and for Hungarians palachintas. But to everyone else in the world, they are known as blintzes and even in Israel, where they are readily available with different fillings in frozen packs at supermarkets or freshly made in casual coffee shops and restaurants, no Hebrew name has been given them.
