This is WEEKLY EDITION. I'm Kitty Eisele.
He's a long-haired 50-something single dad who is now prime minister
of Japan. Junichiro Koizumi was elected in part because his youthful
image helped convince voters he could revive Japan's slumping economy.
But so far Koizumi has focused more on reviving the country's military.
He wants to rebuild Japan's armed forces and allow them to go into
combat. That's something Japan's constitution expressly forbids, and
