power in Bulgaria

Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha led his party to a first-place showing in
yesterday's Bulgarian parliamentary elections. This would be no more
noteworthy than any other change of power in the former Communist
bloc but for the illustrious pedigree of Mr. Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
He is the former King Simeon II who returned from a half-century of
exile and formed the National Movement for Simeon II, a party that
won more than 40 percent of the votes, just shy of an outright majority
of seats in Parliament, certainly ...
