THE ABB Group of Companies in Malaysia, as part of its localisation
programme, has appointed Zubir Zainal as group managing director and chief
executive officer effective Oct 1.
Zubir, who joined ABB Malaysia in 1989, took over from Dr Bo Maryin
Waern. Waern is now the executive vice-president of ABB Asia Pacific Ltd
which is based in Hong Kong.
In a statement, ABB Malaysia said the localisation programme was being
carried out on a global basis wherever the company operated.
It has also appointed Lee Heng Kheong as the managing director of ABB
Transmission and Distribution Sdn Bhd. Lee, a graduate of the University
