(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) SAN FRANCISCO -- University of California President Richard Atkinson outlined proposals to revamp the UC system's undergraduate admissions process in a speech Monday afternoon.

The proposals aim to bolster populations of underrepresented students on UC campuses.

"We cannot lock out any young person from an opportunity at the University of California because their opportunities have been limited," he said. "The University of California is committed to excellence, but equally committed to access for its young people."
