Monday, July 23, 2001 -- Holding company Africa Israel Investments Ltd. said yesterday that its subsidiary, Generique, acquired Christina Canada Swimwear for $27.9 million in cash and assumed debt.

Generique, which is 50-50 controlled by Yehud-based Africa Israel and a group of Canadian investors, also granted Africa Israel a one-year put option to sell 80 percent of its shares in Israeli apparel manufacturer Gottex for $6m.
