SEAFOOD canner Thai Union Frozen Plc will today make an announcement on
its takeover of the third largest canned tuna producer in the United States,
Van Camp Seafood Company Inc.

The acquisition, worth over US$97 million (Bt3 billion), was made by Tri-Union
Seafood LLC, an overseas subsidiary of Thailand's largest canned seafood
producer.

Located at San Diego, Van Camp Seafood Co has a production capacity of
300 tonnes of canned tuna per day. The company sells seven million cases
a year worth $300 million and representing 15 per cent of the canned tuna
market in the US.

Thai Union Frozen is the second Thai company to takeover a US canned tuna
manufacturer ...
