CONCERNING THE CERRO GRANDE FIRE AND FIRE POLICIES IN GENERAL.

Mr. Chairman, thank you for the opportunity to appear before you today
to present the Department of the Interior's views on the Cerro Grande
fire
and the Department's fire policies in general. Accompanying me is
Tom Fry,
the Director of the Bureau of Land Management. We also have with us
several
members of our staffs, who are available to assist in answering any
questions
that you may have.
