SWISS Air reiterated its disinterest in acquiring a stake in Malaysia
Airlines. And this comes after months of almost comical uncertainty in
its decision-making hierarchy.
When word got out late last year that Swiss Air was in the process of
making a bid for Malaysia's national carrier, the Swiss reaction was to
deny any interest. But days later it backtracked and acknowledged that
it is interested in reaching a deal.
Last weekend, however, in an interview with wire agency Bloomberg,
Rainer Meier, a spokesman of the Swiss concern in Zurich, was reportedly
quoted as saying "it is not interested in Malaysia Airlines".
