ZURICH-BASED Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) is yet another example of how
entrenched some Swiss businesses are in this country. The globalised technology
and engineering giant has been part of Malaysia since the first power generator
was installed in 1904 for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (as it is now known) by
MFO Oerlikon, now a member of the ABB group.
Almost a century later, ABB's presence here has expanded considerably
to encompass several locally incorporated companies and a range of businesses.
