FUTUTECH Bhd - a manufacturer of steel rods and light fittings - has
sought out a potentially rich new vein of revenues by diversifying into
the manufacturing of medical devices.
It is a market worth about RM2 billion in Malaysia this year, into
which the second board company will tap by making disposable safety syringes
at its new factory in Puchong, come July or August.
Fututech has secured a five-year Original Equipment Manufacturing
contract from the specially-designed syringe's patent-holders Futura Medical
Technologies Inc of San Diego. It will supply the latter with 140 million
