AFTER nearly 12 years in the public relations (PR) business, I have
observed from experiences that there are misconceptions about public relations'
role and what it's supposed to do. This happens even though public relations
principles and techniques must have been present since the beginning of
mankind.
Man in society has always had to communicate, to exchange information,
to share knowledge, while taking care of attitudes and behaviour in an
atmosphere of truth, respect, justice and equity. Somehow, PR still remains
a mystery to most, while carrying different meanings to different people.
