MALAKOFF Bhd will have to make a one-time full payment for a substantial
stake in the country's largest coal-fired plant in Kapar, Selangor, from
Tenaga National Bhd instead of settling the deal over a period of three
years.
This is one of the features that will be incorporated in a revised
agreement which will be negotiated between the two companies until October
1 this year.
"It means that Malakoff will have to start accelerating funding plans
for Kapar as it previously had a three-year grace period to pay for the
plant," said a foreign analyst.
