Tropical storm warnings for Louisiana
MIAMI, Aug 04, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Tropical storm Barry stalled with 40 mph winds overnight Saturday, but forecasters expect it to pick up forward speed and issued a tropical storm warning for the Louisiana coast.
Some computer models at the National Hurricane Center called for landfall Sunday night or Monday.
The second tropical storm of the Atlantic-Caribbean hurricane season was centered at 11 a.m. EDT near latitude 27.0 north, longitude 87.8 west or about 165 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River.
