THREE out of 40 Bangkok hotels inspected by city officials scored perfect
marks in a fire safety check, Bangkok Governor Bhichit Rattakul said yesterday.
The three hotels that scored full marks out of 100 for fire safety were
the Amari Watergate, Radison and Sun Route, the governor said.
But two hotels failed the safety check. He said the seven-storey Chinatown
Hotel in Yaowaraj area scored 40 out of 100 as it has no fire escapes,
fire extinguishers or emergency lighting. The pass mark was 50 points.
The six-storey SC Park Hotel in Bang Kapi area scored 41 due to an insufficient
