Beef, chicken, cheese recalled
WASHINGTON, Aug 13, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- An Arkansas meat packer Monday recalled 40 pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated with E.coli.
Benton Packing Co. Inc. of Benton, Ark., said all of the recalled beef was packaged in a 40-pound box containing four 10-pound bags labeled ground beef and carrying the establishment No. 10629 inside the USDA seal of inspection.
The beef was produced Aug. 7 and sent to a Benton restaurant. The problem was discovered through routine Food Safety and Inspection Service microbiological testing.
