(Michigan Daily) (U-WIRE) ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Retired University of Michigan political science prof. Harold Jacobson, known by fellow faculty members and friends as Jake, died Monday of a blood clot following surgery at St. Josephs Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Jacobson, 72, had a long history with the University before his departure last year. He has been teaching at the University for more than 40 years, since 1957. In 1990, he served as the Interim Associate Vice President for International Affairs at the University. From 1992-1995, he served as Acting director of the Institute for Social Research.
