WA: Blind woman refused cab ride wants tougher fines

PERTH, Aug 20 AAP - A blind woman is taking action against Perth's taxi drivers after
several of them illegally refused to carry her and her guide dog.
In one incident, a cabbie spat at Carolyn Rupe after refusing to take her and Sharn,
her three-year-old black labrador guide dog.
Ms Rupe said today she had been refused service from Perth taxi drivers seven times
in 21 months because of the dog, leaving her angry and humiliated.
But a taxi driver's refusal to take her home from her work as receptionist at a Perth
