JERNEH Asia Bhd saw a 29.51 per cent increase in earnings for the
half- year ended June 30 2001, with a net profit of RM12.33 million compared
to RM9.52 million for the same period in 2000.
Total revenue dropped 13.33 per cent for the half-year ended June 30
2001 to RM125.73 million from RM145.07 million.
The group's pre-tax profit increased RM2.7 million to RM18.9 million
against RM16.3 million in the corresponding period last year.
Its principal subsidiary, Jerneh Insurance Bhd, provided RM1.8 million
in diminution in value of quoted investments.
Group borrowings amounted to RM20 million, all of which were unsecured
and short-term in nature.
