Vic: Tampa hearing continues in Federal Court=2

Meanwhile, the court has heard evidence from the secretary of the federal immigration
department, WILLIAM JOHN FARMER.

Justice NORTH has refused to allow Mr FARMER to be asked which country the asylum-seekers
on the Tampa will be taken to, before they are moved to New Zealand and Nauru.

He did this after Commonwealth Solicitor-General DAVID BENNETT QC objected, saying
the detail has not been made public, and is the subject of delicate negotiations.

Mr FARMER said he could not say for sure that all the asylum ...
