Shell International and Lend Lease have applied to the London Borough
of Lambeth for planning permission to regenerate the Shell Center on the
South Bank.
When completed in Autumn 2004, the project will create Belvedere
Court, a new, mixed-use quarter of restaurants, cafes, leisure facilities,
offices, shops and civic space linking Waterloo to Queen's Walk, County
Hall, The London Eye, Jubilee Gardens and the South Bank Center.
As a member of the South Bank and North Lambeth community, Shell has
recognized the opportunity to improve the civic environment of their London
headquarters rather than it functioning mainly as a thoroughfare between
