MALAYSIA Mining Corp Bhd (MMC) said it plans to buy a further 1.3 million
shares or 0.5 per cent in Malaysia's largest independent power producer
Malakoff Bhd for a total RM12.74 million in cash.
This follows last month's proposal to acquire 2.54 million Malakoff
shares of RM1 each from 61 Malakoff employees, at RM9.80 a share as part
of a plan to strengthen its core business in infrastructure, mainly the
power generation sector.
In a statement to the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE), MMC said it
will buy the additional 1.3 million shares of Malakoff of RM1 each, at
RM9.80 per share from 51 Malakoff employees pursuant to them exercising
