(The Post) (U-WIRE) ATHENS, Ohio -- The University of Central Florida might become the 14th team in the Mid-American Conference effective in 2002.
The Golden Knights will become a member of the MAC in football only if the school decides to join the conference.
The decision is not official yet, but both the MAC and Central Florida administrationconfirmed that the issue is being aggressively addressed since Conference USA's decided not to expand on Oct. 16.
Marshall had considered joining Conference USA after the 2001 season, but Conference USA board members voted to put off any decision of expansion.
