U.S.: Pakistani government is secure
WASHINGTON, Oct 28, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- A senior U.S. official said Sunday Washington did not believe Pakistan was going to collapse under pressure from religious extremists who oppose its decision to back U.S. military strikes into Afghanistan.
"I believe the Pakistani government is secure," White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card told NBC's "Meet the Press."
