The arrival of new, computerized voting machines was supposed to
eliminate problems at the polls. It didn't.
There were also reports that poll workers in West Paterson were
trying to sway voters to oppose a name change, and an African-American
poll worker was turned away in Totowa.
Federal election monitor Walter Timpone said one African-American
poll worker was being kept out of a Totowa polling site, allegedly
