THE wireless local area network (LAN), which provides connectivity
freedom to Internet users from the confine of their office desk is starting
to take shape in Malaysia although its expansion initially got off to a
slow start.
The wireless connectivity is already being installed in, among others
technology parks, banks, colleges and hospitals.
For instance, sources said an upcoming high-profile wireless LAN
installation is slated for completion soon at the RM1.2 billion Kulim High
Tech Park (KHTP), dubbed the Silicon Valley in Kedah.
The 1,450ha park is expected to be a customer of leading wireless
networking vendor, 3Com Malaysia.
