Spanish unemployment rising again
NEW YORK, Nov 14, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- "Spain is doing OK [Espana va bien]," is no longer Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar's modestly triumphant motto. The truth is that Spain is not doing as well as it used to not long ago.
It was recently disclosed that unemployment jumped by 51,452 people from September to October, and by 100,000 year-on-year (or 0.64 percent). That is the worst data related to employment, in absolute terms, since Aznar was elected in 1996.
