Juice extractors, 'Blast Balls' recalled

WASHINGTON, Nov 15, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Hamilton Beach of Glen Allen, Va., Thursday recalled 2.4 million juice extractors because the strainer basket and lid can break, posing the risk of injury from projectiles to anyone standing nearby.

Hamilton Beach told the Consumer Product Safety Commission it had received 35 reports of strainer baskets breaking apart, resulting in four injuries to consumers serious enough to require stitches.

The recalled units are white, 12-inches high and bear model Nos. 67150, 67180, 67180W, 395WS, 67199 and 3920JS.
