Qld: Fishing boat rammed off central coast

BRISBANE, Nov 19 AAP - A fishing boat was limping back to port today after allegedly
being rammed by a Korean registered bulk coal carrier off the central Queensland coast
overnight.

The crew of the Benjamin have told the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)
they were struck by the ship at 3.30am (AEST) today in the Swains Reef area, about 70
nautical miles from Mackay.

An AMSA spokesman said no-one on board the fishing boat was injured, although the owners
had reported it had suffered extensive damage in the bow area.
