Fed: Ten Capital to close down local television news service
CANBERRA, Nov 21 AAP - Ten Capital would soon cease its Canberra television news service,
general manager Eric Pascoe said today.
"It's Ten Capital's intention to cease production of its news service," he said in a statement.
"We cannot give you a final air date as management and unions are still consulting
with the affected staff.
"The decision has not been made lightly and it's with much regret that it's no longer
economically feasible to continue with local production."
ABC Radio said 20 staff were likely to lose their jobs, but Ten Capital declined to
comment on numbers.
