Fed: research shows benefit in Aust blood test for TB

BRISBANE, Nov 29 AAP - An Australian-developed blood test to detect TB maybe an improvement
over the century-old skin test in detecting latent disease, research suggests.

The test, which has been available in Australia for the past five years, has now been
approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Melbourne-based medical diagnostic company Cellestis Limited said one advantage of
the test was that it only required a single patient visit.
