Feds seek foreign student data at San Diego State U.

(The Daily Aztec) (U-WIRE) SAN DIEGO -- Records of at least 150 international students at San Diego State University have been requested by law enforcement agencies since the Sept. 11 attacks.

On Nov. 7, the university received a written request from the Immigration and Naturalization Service requesting the records -- which included students from the Middle East -- but not giving any specific reason why they needed them.

Jason Foster, media relations manager, said the campus complied since the request did not violate any student privacy laws.
